News

It's 2003, and we're a band on a mission.  We're determined to play live as much as possible this year with a load of new equipment and new songs.  With a couple of great new gigs scheduled in the coming weeks, including a big gig on July 4th at the site of one of the more famous early Led Zeppelin concerts, we're very excited about what this year holds in store.

The Band
The Levee welcomes new guitarist Al Cruz, who joined the band in March.  Al has inspired us to learn many new songs and to put even more energy into our music.  A very accomplished musician with passion and fire to spare, Al brings a lot of excitement to the proceedings.

The Gigs
Starting in June, The Levee plans to play live as often as possible.  A bit of a return to our roots occurred on June 21st, when we played live in the middle of downtown Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  Dan (vocals) and Dennis (bass) met outside Chapel Hill some 13 years ago, and we were pleased to have the opportunity to return to where it all began and play a great, full-length show.  The audience seemed to enjoy it quite a bit, and we hope to be back sometime in the next several weeks.

July 4th will be a momentous occasion.  The Levee will perform at Dorton Arena on the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh, NC, which is the same building in which Led Zeppelin themselves performed a legendary concert on April 8, 1970.  The Levee will go on at about 6 PM and blow thousands of minds for roughly an hour to warm up for the spectacular fireworks display that occurs after nightfall.

August 23rd will find us down on the peerless North Carolina coast for a colossal gig at Wrightsville Beach's The Palm Room.  If you're a Zeppelin fan looking for a late summer vacation, look no further.  Wrightsville Beach's scenery (natural and otherwise) has to be seen to be believed!  Bring your sunscreen and bathing suits, and plan to hang out for a while soaking up the scene.

If you're interested in hosting a Levee appearance, please call us at either 919-957-1329 or 919-942-3449.  We also welcome your e-mail.
